What is PASTEL GOTH you say?

SO you say...WHAT IS IT ALL ABOUT? And why has your blog turned into a Japanese teenage girls wet dream? Okay I'm sorry that I'm to old to hang out with teenagers but that
doesn't mean i don't love teen style! I've picked out some images that I think sum up what Pastel Goth is about, from what I can see it's a softened interpretation of goth (which is a trend I personally never move on from) scene,(dare I say it a little bit emo) and a whole lotta KAWAII. And I'm not ashamed to say I think it's just adorable! Teen bloggers and TUMBLR addicts are all over this trend. You heard it here first!

I love the chalky washed out hair colours, Skeletons, strong lip colour & gothic make up, DIY, studded everything, A BIT PUNKY AND A BIT GRUNGY, sheers, PASTELS OBVIOUSLY, flower crowns and plastic princess tiara's (made famous by THE most famous teen blogger Tavi, aka..ROOKIE. If you haven't heard of her....like.where have you been?!)

Picture below, Machine A (check out that rockabilly hair do!), Audrey Kitching in middle (one of the most famous 'Scene Queens' is the perfect model with her ever changing candy floss hair!)And Clash magazine:

Japanese street fashion has a lot to do with the Harajuku/ Lolita/ CUTE/ princess aesthetic, and my new favourite brand NIKKILIPSTICK really packs a punky pastel coloured punch.

POLYVORE is the perfect place to see how the teens are playing with this trend, and great if you are not sure which items you'd like to invest in.

Uk blogger (http://kaylahadlington.blogspot.co.uk/) bopped this trend on the nose A while back with this perfectly co ordinated hair and shirt combo and lush black lips.

Last summer Pastel dip dyed cut offs started to emerge and now this kind of studded customised badboys are set to stay a little longer! And I'm very happy about that, as I'm still to find my perfect bleachy, purple tinted cross encrusted pair! We will only know to stop lusting after them once TOPSHOP out out a meek watered down version. If it ends up in TOPSHOP the trend is well and truly over. Well that's my opinion and I'm not gonna change it for nobody.

today i have been mostly....

FANNYYYING ABOUT MAKING FLOWER CROWNS AND TRYING ON MY THRIFTED CLOTHES. And stretching IN THE SUN. It was pretty pleasant. Oh and blogging & instagram-ing  as you can quite plainly see.

PS.

Found a great video after I made my crown, showing how to make them, and a lot neater than mine, by the most adorable girl in Holland, The Grey Cat Lady ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U9h5Y-sAzvc&feature=relmfu) So watch, subscribe, comment, AND make! xxxx

we come in peace.

As an avid Sci-Fi fan I'm personally digging all the other worldly goings on in fashion at the moment. From metallics, body armour, shimmery fabrics, unreal hair colours to full faced colour make up and sculptural hair do's, fashion has finally shook off it's steely austere and started having fun again. Here are a few of my favourite details and items that I think show the future of this trend is as exciting and thrilling as space travel itself!

The always edgy and forward thinking, Alexander MQueen's much discussed alien shoes, wild silhouettes and sculptural hairdos.

Hussein Chalayan & Swarovski created this very 'Blade Runner' dress which could easily be a costume in a sci Fi future movie! It has two layers LED lights with a layer of translucent fabric covering it. AWESOME!

The awe inspiring Meadham & Kirchhoff's catwalk hair & make up, is colourful and playful, with interesting fabrics giving a otherworldly space age feel. The hair chocked is particularly interesting and forward thinking! Playful colours make me think of futuristic utopian costumes from Sci Fi shows.

Jeremy Scott amazingly fun wigs, spacey bindis and shiny fabrics, make me feel all happy and bubbly inside. Playfuly wild and refreshing!

Tequila Star has two separate lines in original designs under the name To Kill A Star....

And a fab jewellery line...(Pictures to follow..)

There is such a wealth of exciting fun designs out there and with the Tumblr generation of teens pushing fashion trends in very uncharted (heehe..get it?) direction I can't wait to see what designers come up with next! The future belongs to our kids!

NIKKILIPSTICK is the sex

NUFF SAID I THINK. ITS THE DOGS. THE SEX. GET IN MY BAG! BAGSIED.

GET ME SUMMA THAT!

Oh and another obsession to follow...other than compulsive
INSTAGRAMMING and TUMBLR scrolling!

What are you obsessing over? I'm currently in love with Audrey Kitching's pink hair.

They are all so freaking awesome...I can't decide, actually right now I can't even afford them, so I'll just dream some more.

currently obsessing over

Nike Air Max Trainers. Just bought the Rainbow pair to cheer me up whilst running. And also I sold my old smelly trainers to a foot fetishist. No lie.

Inspired by friends

I've been spending a lot of time at my good friends Fiona and Pauls' lovely flat in Brighton, and I love how their life inspires me so much! I wanted to share their creativity and beauty, which is reflected by the things around them.

Fiona's mutual obsession with fashion and vintage is evident in the bright prints, vintage vibes, and an overflowing wardrobe. Flowers, sculptures, interesting books, collected items from travels and gifts from friends thoughtfully grouped and displayed, they tell a story of wonder. Fiona has a lovely little sewing room which is out of my dreams, and a dressing table which could be straight out of a vintage shop (and for some reason reminds me of both of my cool auntie and hippy older cousins' bedrooms in the highlands in the 90's?).

Such a smart and suited pair, her boyfriend Paul is entertaining, flamboyant and theatrical. Incidentally, Paul is all the way from Glasgow where I used to live, so his accent makes me feel at home. Positivity beams out of these two! They have welcomed me into their special way of living and I love hearing about their far flung stories & travels around the world. They both fuel my lust for travel!

I'm Gonna Miss You Guys. xxxx
In the sewing room...

Fabulous vintage floral skirt in the best color combination
Skirt I brought round to hem (cos of moving soon I don't have a sewing machine!)
Vintage 70's Dress and Sunning Velvet jacket hanging on door to sewing room. Been in love with this coat since I first laid my 'green with envy' eyes on it.
