BADASS Rockin' Black Haight Ashbury T-shirt

 

Intense face.

I bought this tee in San Fransisco May 2011. As we were travelling on Harleys, clothes shopping wasn't  easy to do (with so little space for clothes on the bike) but I had to buy it cos its so freaking badass! I love the skull, the triangle, the font, the wings and its became one of my favourite tees to wear! ALSO I made my hair bigger for extra rockin' roll.

It is THAT badass I've just made a whole post about it to show you...(plus me pulling intense faces!)

Oh and I've got on yeah those big "ALIEN" sunglasses again, which I now wish were GREEN!! Why? A man muttered 'Alien' to me as I passed him wearing these! How inspired! He might of been trying to insult me, BUT I'm going to take it as a compliment that I know my trends and have interesting style! Thats not the first time that particular guy as made comments about my clothes, he's a fruity Brighton acid-casualty. He stopped me to ask what nebula was on my Black Milk Galaxies once too!

Just like when the neds (a 'Ned' is like a 'Chav') who shouted 'Clown' at me when I was bow-headed and multi-coloured in Glasgow or all the passing comments - 'Punk' or 'Goff' (meaning goth) or 'Mosher' or 'Hippy' or 'Bumble Bee' at me many years ago...You can see where I'm going with this one. If its attention, I've served my purpose. What would be the point of getting dressed/style/fashion if you got no attention?! I'd wither and die.

Outfit - Seventies Boho Mama

I got this faux fur collar form a charity shop for like £2 and added it to this Next velvet blazer that I got from Ebay for under a tenner I think. Its a size 12 and a bit baggy in the sleeves so I took it in a bit.. and not having a sewing machine at the moment means I hand to HAND SEW it..UGH!

I like how the coat with the collar is a lil' bit Willy Wonka, and with the 70's hat (which is very Prada huh?!) adds up to a whole bag of crazy boho MAMA styling! I love the colour combo of the burgundy velvet with the rusty fur collar and the navy hat. I'm feelin it baby!

I've got my EYE on you.

As seen in last post, the sheer spotty shirt is a fab charity shop find (as well as the hat) cashmere cardigan is a scottish knitwear vintage favourite of mine, I wear it all the time, its warm with out being bulky.Green Leather bag is vintage piece I bought in Glasgow in about 2000. Brooches are a few of my vintage one I've had for years, and my third eye necklace just to add a twist to the outfit. I don't feel complete unless I have a third eye on these days!

Also - I've included a few picturess of one of my jewellery boxes which I picked up of about £2, its glass and just like the ones I remember my aunty having when I was little. Inside are some of my favourite collected vintage jewellery bits n bobs (most of which I'm too scared to wear in case I lose them- silly huh!) and a few lapel pins and and ADORABLE LIL' GLASS ELEPHANT! How cute is he?! I love him- he was only 50p!!!!

What have you guys been buying lately? I shouldn't really buy anything as I'm saving for the move to Sydney but I'm a compulsive bargain hunter I can't help it!

We finally had time to go out for a Valentines meal as both of us were busy working, so we got dressed up (for once!) went out to one of our favourite semi-fancy resterants Indian Summer, it was lovely as always! They treat you with delish aperitifs and in-between course surprises. Very romantic! That was our second valentines together, on the day I treated Ben to a whole day of pampering and a hand made card which he loved...

NO stealing my card idea...haaa haa, kiddin!

(This is actually the second time I've written this post as it mysteriously disappeared, so I'm struggling to remember what I said the first time round! ugh! It went something like this I think...)

I've been really busy packing and getting ready for our move to Sydney- Yes! We are moving to Sydney in a month or two!! Crazy huh?! I'm so excited!

Ben, who is originally from Sydney, has been offered a job working in a Games Studio (that is computer games btw- He's a Creative Director & Games Developer!) so its a bit of a homecoming for him after moving to Brighton about 6 years ago. Its been a bit of a roller coaster of emotions since he told me that there was a very high chance it was happening, and now it's been confirmed we can go ahead and start planning the move. Scary stuff.

I've started to tell my loved ones about leaving and was a little surprised at the mixed reactions and general disbelief that I'll be so far away. I've already had to cope with moving away from Glasgow (where I lived for 10 years) and all my friends two years ago, as well as when I left my family to move to Glasgow all those years ago. So I know about starting from scratch, and having to make new friends all over again. (When I got to Brighton I just had a bag and had no job or place to stay, so at least it should be easier than that!) I'm just glad we have Skype now, but its not like I can just hop on a plane for an hour and be with family/friends any time I want. Also I'm worried none of my loved ones will be able to afford the hefty price tag on the tickets to come visit!


But I'm seeing this as an awesome opportunity which I would never of had, if I hadn't met Ben! So I feel very lucky, and it will be the first time I've met any of Ben's family which I'm really looking forward to. His sister Cinnamon is due to have a baby in May. Woop! So I will be an aunty of sorts!
